DR. NICK HOWARD, Founder, Psychologist, Leadership Coach

Founder

Psychologist, Leadership Coach

I have been fascinated by people and leadership since I was young, which is now a long time ago! My abiding passion to understand people and leadership on deeper levels led me to major in Psychology and Organization Communications in college (graduating in 1987), and to eventually earn my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College in 1999.

When I learned about the field of coaching around 2000, I was immediately drawn in. I loved the idea of helping Christian leaders grow and flourish; enabling them to do greater good with their lives, and live a life pleasing to God. That led me to earn a coaching certificate in 2002 from the highly esteemed Hudson Institute based out of Santa Barbara CA.

Since 2002 I have done a blend of therapy, coaching and training. I really value engaging with people to help them heal and grow. Perhaps my most significant gift is the ability to enter someone’s world and, over time, help them life in greater freedom and greater fullness. I am very grateful for the chances God has given me to be a meaningful part of people’s lives.

Jesus has been central to my life since I rededicated my life to Him at a fabulous Young Life camp experience just before my sophomore year in high school. I have never regretted that decision. Continuing to get to know Him better, along with His Father and the Holy Spirit has brought meaning, purpose, and happiness to my life in ways I can never fully express.

I hope more than anything to flourish and finish well by continuing to grow in Him, and by loving others really well, (especially my precious family). I ultimately hope against hope to have a humble life offering to place before God, and by God's grace, hear Him say what so many of us long to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant. Come and share our happiness!”

To that end, feel free to pray for me and our staff as we make our way, stumbling at times, towards that Great Day.

I am also hugely blessed to have a fabulous family, that I really enjoy, and who are gradually helping me become a better husband and dad. My wife Jamie is a huge gift. She loves being a Mom, loves learning (having earned a Master's and Ph.D. in different fields), and contributing to people's lives. doing her Ph.D. work on Religion and Culture. She is also a therapist, as you’ll see as well on this website. Our kids are a real delight, and bring life, joy, and yes at times, chaos and challenges to our lives. I also love sports, reading, thought-provoking or funny movies, and vacations!
